When we understand that the Presence of God can be received and sustained like Abraham did at Mamre, we've then reached a new level of maturity in our walk with Him.
A truly sensitive man, with a firm idea of what the will of His God is, has more leverage to capture and sustain the Presence of God whenever He chooses to appear. This is because to a trustworthy degree, he knows God's attributes, he understands God's way of thinking, he's accustomed to God's culture, and he's quite familiar with His desires, so he's very well positioned to fashion his own abode into a habitat where God can and will dwell, for he has made all conditions favourable to receive and keep God's Presence.
Abraham was already a man well capable of being a father to his very own son before this visitation of God at Mamre. He was like a well-studied student who had written his exams excellently and now simply awaiting results; we see this through his level of faith as unlike Sarah he didn't doubt the word of the LORD about the birth of his child.
When we understand that the Presence of God can be received and sustained like Abraham did at Mamre, we've then reached a new level of maturity in our walk with Him.
Without faith, no man can receive and steward the Presence of God as the uplifter of heads because this particular Presence of God lifts. It is a Verb Presence. And Verb is an action word. And action requires work to be done - "for faith without works is dead." - and the work here is that you believe in God and walk in the path that ends in the uplifting you've believed God for. The Presence of God can appear for destruction like unto Sodom and Gomorrah, the Presence of God can appear for judgement like unto Cain, so also the Presence of God can appear for uplifting like unto Noah. Lifting will come when you look up to God. You look up to God because you have faith in Him. You have this faith in Him because by your knowledge and understanding of God's attributes and culture you're persuaded that He is your only hope for lifting. And on the basis of this faith of yours (Habakkuk 2 : 4b) God the uplifter of heads reigns supreme in your life to always reward you with the fruit of your little mustard seed.
Promotion is never far away from those who possess this faith.
